Senior Instrument & Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Instrument & Control Engineer to lead the design, engineering and integration of instrumentation and control systems for our projects in Indonesia. The role involves delivering detailed engineering packages, supporting procurement and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with safety and hazardous area standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs, including instrument layouts, location plans, installation details and cable routing.
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets and procurement documents for field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow) and control systems (DCS, SIS, PLC).
• Create functional logic descriptions, control narratives and cause‑and‑effect matrices for Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
• Configure, program and test control platforms such as SCADA and DCS, ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction and commissioning, adhering to SIL safety standards and hazardous area classifications.
• Review client requirements, propose optimized and cost‑effective solutions, and participate in business development and proposal activities.
• Manage small to mid‑scale projects as project manager and report to the Regional Lead of Indonesia Energy Operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in the energy or process industry.
• Strong understanding of safety instrumented systems, SIL concepts and hazardous area classifications.
• Ability to interpret client specifications and translate them into detailed engineering deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in client interaction and project management.
