Project Director – Global Health Security (STRIDES)

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Project Director to lead the STRIDES activity in Indonesia, a USG‑funded Global Health Security programme. The role will oversee the design, implementation and evaluation of laboratory and disease‑surveillance strengthening initiatives across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for the STRIDES activity, ensuring alignment with USG Global Health Security objectives.
• Develop, execute and monitor annual work plans, budgets and financial expenditures.
• Coordinate with US government posts, Indonesian ministries, civil‑society partners and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Manage and supervise project staff, subcontractors and consultants.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, technical and financial reporting and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Facilitate cross‑sectoral collaboration to strengthen laboratory capacity and disease‑surveillance systems.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing large‑scale health‑security or public‑health projects, preferably with USG funding.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex budgets.
• Strong knowledge of infectious‑disease detection, laboratory networks and surveillance systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with experience working with government and international partners.
