Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer / Senior Technician

About the role

We are looking for an Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer or Senior I/E Technician to support production, utility, QC, PPIC and laboratory operations at our Merak plant in Indonesia. The role involves installation, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of instrument and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with EHS and process safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and work safely according to occupational safety rules.
• Install, replace and repair instrumentation and electrical systems in the Merak factory.
• Perform troubleshooting, analysis and corrective actions on instrument and electrical equipment.
• Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Calibrate instruments according to schedule and procedures.
• Support production, projects, PPIC, utility and QC activities.
• Prepare daily work reports and maintenance work orders.
• Generate root cause analysis for production deviations.
• Perform maintenance on plant electrical equipment and building electrical systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Engineering Physics (or Diploma with 6 years experience).
• Minimum 3 years (Bachelor) or 6 years (Diploma) of relevant experience.
• Hands‑on experience with field instruments (flowmeter, pressure transmitter, level transmitter, control valve).
• Experience with electrical equipment (transformer, circuit breaker, MCC, switchgear, 1‑ and 3‑phase motors).
• Experience programming and troubleshooting DCS and PLC systems.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and EHS requirements in petrochemical environments.
