Quality Engineer

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Quality Engineer to support product and process quality in its Batam facility. The role involves driving non‑conformance investigations, validation activities and continuous improvement across manufacturing and computerized systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist, execute and lead non‑conformance investigations, root cause analysis (RCA) and the generation and execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Review and execute engineering studies, validation and qualification activities for new or existing products, processes, raw materials and computer systems.
• Perform risk assessments for products, processes and systems and support change requests for improvements.
• Conduct periodic quality oversight in the operation area, including computerized system lifecycle compliance.
• Communicate product quality issues, disposition of non‑conforming products and escalations to stakeholders.
• Support compliance improvement programs and work with manufacturing to implement process improvements.
• Assess GxP applicability of systems and ensure compliance with validation and qualification requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in non‑conformance investigation, RCA, CAPA and validation activities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with fluency in English.
