Finance Specialist – Ultra-Poor Graduation Initiative

About the role

The BRAC-UPGI in Indonesia is hiring a Finance Specialist to provide and coordinate financial support for its Indonesia operation. The role works closely with Indonesia programme teams, global Operations and HR teams, and external providers in payroll, tax, audit and compliance, and reports to the Senior Manager Administration. It is based in the BRAC Indonesia office in Jakarta.

Key responsibilities

• Office financial management: manage the office bank account and petty cash, process vendor payments, travel claims and operational expenses, verify invoices and maintain accurate books of accounts and financial trackers.
• Reconcile bank, petty cash and credit card accounts, investigate discrepancies and prepare quarterly fund requests and monthly and year-end financial statements and management reports.
• Prepare an annual financial report for the relevant Indonesian ministry under the MoU, and oversee tax accounting and statutory reporting with external accountants.
• Payroll: coordinate monthly payroll through the payroll software with HR Global, check calculations and statutory deductions such as PPh 21, BPJS Health and BPJS Employment, reconcile payroll with accounting records and respond to staff queries.
• Budget support: help prepare, consolidate and forecast the country budget, monitor actual spending against approved budgets and donor funding, and flag budget risks.
• Ensure compliance with BRAC International policies, Indonesian regulations and donor requirements, and maintain accurate financial, payroll, tax and audit records.
• Safeguarding: implement safeguarding policies, take programme decisions with a do-no-harm approach, attend safeguarding discussions and report safeguarding incidents.
