External Research Consultant for District Support (Jakarta)

About the role

The KREASI programme, managed by Save the Children, seeks an external collaborator to ensure research quality across eight districts in Indonesia. The consultant will guide local partners through all research stages, from ideation to dissemination, guaranteeing methodological rigor and ethical compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an online research induction session to align all partners with KREASI research quality standards.
• Provide online research clinics and mentoring, conducting quality checks of research products at each stage (ideation, design, data collection, analysis, conclusions, dissemination).
• Map partner research timelines, create a workplan, and coordinate bi‑weekly progress meetings with the KREASI Research Consultant.
• Store all consultancy documents in a shared Google Drive and ensure timely monthly billing based on deliverables.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in social research, education, public policy, statistics or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of applied quantitative, qualitative and mixed‑methods research experience.
• Deep knowledge of Indonesia’s education sector, including literacy, numeracy, character education, teaching practice, school leadership and child protection.
• Proven experience supervising and coaching researchers, with strong facilitation and feedback abilities.
• Excellent written communication in both Indonesian and English, capable of producing research products for diverse audiences.
