Software Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead our engineering team in South Jakarta. The successful candidate will drive the design, development, and scaling of our core systems while embedding AI capabilities into our product suite.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a software development team through planning, design, and implementation phases.
• Define engineering standards, code‑review processes and best‑practice guidelines.
• Architect scalable, maintainable systems and evaluate micro‑service designs.
• Champion AI/ML adoption, integrating LLM APIs and generative AI features into products.
• Collaborate with product owners, IT system integrators and cross‑functional stakeholders on roadmap planning.
• Allocate tasks, monitor team capacity and support career growth of engineers.
• Ensure delivery quality via structured testing, QA and code‑review processes.
• Monitor production environments and lead resolution of critical incidents.
• Own recruitment, onboarding and capability development of the development team.
• Report progress and present updates to the Board of Directors and senior management.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven track record of leading a team of three or more engineers.
• Strong expertise in at least one backend language such as Golang, Python or TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) and building RAG pipelines.
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering and model evaluation for enterprise use.
• Experience designing micro‑services, REST/gRPC APIs and working with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Education background is optional; demonstrated results are paramount.
