Senior Manager – Strategic Sourcing

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives within its Supply Chain function. The role focuses on optimizing supplier relationships, driving cost savings, and ensuring continuity of supply for critical direct materials and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global strategic sourcing strategies that deliver cost reductions and secure alternative suppliers.
• Apply data analytics to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and launch new sourcing projects.
• Manage site budgeting, spend variance analysis, and coordinate projects with the MST team.
• Lead negotiations for direct materials such as metal, electronics, and molded components, and support localization of materials and capital equipment.
• Build and present business cases to senior leadership to align on sourcing and localization initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant strategic sourcing or procurement experience.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to build relationships across internal teams and external partners.
• Expertise in direct materials including injection molding, devices, metals, and chemicals.
• Demonstrated experience managing regional and global RFPs and complex supply agreements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SAP.
• Knowledge of Power BI.
• Familiarity with Alteryx.
• Strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
