Sales Engineer – Water & Wastewater Solutions (Jakarta)

About the role

Veolia in Southeast Asia is looking for a Sales Engineer based in Jakarta, Indonesia, in its Business Development department. This is a hybrid role (60% business development, 40% technical) focused on growing water and wastewater treatment solutions. You will identify opportunities, lead tender processes and deliver technical proposals that solve complex client challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead generation of municipal projects and market mapping for Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP/WWTP) projects across Indonesia.
• Develop projects with the engineering team on conceptual plant design, technology selection and Operation & Maintenance studies.
• Manage the full tender process: draft proposals, present to clients and negotiate commercial terms to close deals.
• Analyse client requirements to ensure technical feasibility.
• Perform basic process sizing and cost estimations and collaborate with the engineering team on tailored EPC solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 5-10 years of proven experience in water project sales, project engineering or EPC, specifically in water/wastewater treatment for mid to large-scale municipal projects.
• Professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and business English.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently (25-40%) to project sites across Indonesia.
