Project Lead Engineer - Automation and Communication

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Project Lead Engineer for Automation and Communication projects in Jakarta. You will act as the Project Technical Lead Engineer, leading the technical execution of projects from initiation to close-out and serving as the primary technical contact for customers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements and contract specifications into a clear, cost-effective technical solution concept.
• Plan and coordinate engineering tasks, and review detailed engineering deliverables.
• Support testing, FAT, installation, commissioning, SAT, as-built documentation and project close-out feedback.
• Coordinate engineering design activities and review project deliverables.
• Identify and manage technical risks, issues, changes and open actions.
• Ensure accurate project documentation, handover and lessons learned capture.
• Mentor project engineering teams and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Champion safety, integrity and compliance across all project activities.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent in electrical, automation, communication, power systems or a related field.
• Typically 10-15+ years of relevant project engineering experience, preferably in power, automation, communication or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of project execution, customer requirements, engineering coordination, testing support and site support.
• Strong communication, ownership, problem-solving and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Ability to review technical documents, coordinate with stakeholders and drive actions to closure.
• Good working knowledge of common office and collaboration tools; training is provided for company-specific tools, templates and in-house processes.
