IT Business Development Officer

About the role

The IT Business Development Officer will own the end‑to‑end development cycle for IT and digital solution projects, from prospecting and opportunity identification through negotiation, closing and handover to delivery teams. The role focuses on acquiring new business from government institutions, state‑owned enterprises, private companies and strategic partners while maintaining strong relationships with key decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across public and private sectors.
• Conduct client meetings, discovery sessions and requirement‑gathering to define project scope, budget and timelines.
• Collaborate with technical, product, project‑management and operations teams to design suitable IT solutions.
• Lead pre‑sales activities including solution presentations, demonstrations and proposal clarification.
• Prepare business proposals, feasibility studies, quotations, pricing calculations and commercial offers.
• Assess commercial feasibility, revenue potential, margins, risks, CAPEX and OPEX for each opportunity.
• Manage government tender processes, review RFP/TOR documents and ensure timely submission.
• Coordinate with finance, legal and management on pricing, contracts and commercial approvals.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline, opportunity tracker and revenue forecasts.
• Support project handover to delivery teams and monitor client satisfaction for upselling opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in sales or business development within the IT/digital solutions sector.
• Strong ability to manage complex negotiations and multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with senior decision‑makers.
• Analytical mindset to evaluate commercial viability and profitability.
