Head of Public Acquisition

About the role

The Head of Public Acquisition will lead the Public Acquisition Unit of Wahana Visi Indonesia, driving funding and partnership growth with Indonesian mass donors. This senior position reports to senior leadership and is responsible for delivering both financial and non‑financial targets aligned with the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Public Acquisition Unit to generate funding from individual, church, school, university and community donors.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan, including annual business plans and targets for the team and each member.
• Build a mature portfolio of mass donors over a 2‑3 year horizon, leveraging existing networks and expanding the organization’s reputation.
• Collaborate with Board members, Advisory Group and Executive Leadership Team to engage highly committed donors.
• Coordinate strategy development, market analysis and donor relationship management in line with the overall funding strategy.
• Design and produce communication collateral to support donor acquisition campaigns.
• Secure annual funding targets and ensure effective resource allocation.
• Support emergency response initiatives as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fundraising, donor acquisition or business development within the non‑profit sector.
• Strong network and connections with Indonesian churches, schools, universities and community groups.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and annual business targets.
• Leadership experience managing a team and fostering professional growth.
• Excellent collaboration skills with senior leadership, board members and advisory groups.
