Head of Business Development & Alternate Channel

About the role

The role is responsible for driving profitable growth by selling a broad suite of insurance solutions through distributor channels in Indonesia. The incumbent will develop deep knowledge of distributor business models, create joint business plans and lead a team of sales specialists and underwriters to capture new and renewal opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Aggressively pursue new and renewal account opportunities and coordinate sales specialists and underwriters to close deals.
• Conduct detailed discussions with distributors to build accurate distributor profiles.
• Maintain comprehensive opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth potential.
• Develop joint business plans that leverage Zurich’s full range of insurance products and services.
• Build and nurture strong relationships at multiple levels within distributor organisations.
• Execute regular sales calls aligned with opportunity size and need.
• Collaborate with Business Units to implement distributor business plans and monitor performance.
• Qualify accounts against the organisation’s risk appetite and negotiate closures in partnership with underwriters.
• Drive initiatives to increase product density on existing accounts.
• Serve as the escalation point for distributor service and business issues while managing the sales pipeline and achieving targets for calls, submissions, hit ratios and production.
