About the role

The Economist will support the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Jakarta by providing evidence‑based analysis on SDG acceleration, economic transformation and SDG financing. The role involves research, policy advice and coordination with UN country team partners to drive sustainable development outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Plan, facilitate and consolidate analysis of SDG status, offering substantive advice on acceleration, green and just transition, digital transformation and financing mechanisms.
Produce policy papers, guidance notes and flagship reports, synthesising data and emerging best practices while highlighting synergies and trade‑offs among SDGs.
Coordinate advocacy and partnership efforts with national governments, international financial institutions and the private sector to reframe economic policies and mobilise innovative financing.
Support the development of an integrated SDG programming cycle, including roadmaps, common country analyses and annual reports that embed economic transformation and financing strategies.
