Waiter – Onboard Service

About the role

The Waiter provides attentive food and beverage service to guests aboard PT. Ratu Oceania Raya, ensuring memorable experiences across restaurants, lounges, bars and event venues. Working under the guidance of senior wait staff and outlet managers, the role demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail and the ability to anticipate guest needs.

Key responsibilities

• Execute guest orders swiftly and accurately, following company service procedures.
• Assist with set‑up, service and breakdown duties for each outlet as directed.
• Take food and drink orders using DMS, Micros or other outlet‑specific systems.
• Provide wine and menu recommendations based on briefings from the Chef de Cuisine and Sommelier.
• Maintain compliance with health department regulations throughout service.
• Greet and escort guests to their seats, ensuring a courteous and personalized experience.
• Report to the Senior Waiter, Bar Tender or Sommelier and follow guidance from outlet managers.

Required profile

• Ability to stay alert, focused and read guests’ preferences, remembering names and habits.
• Calm and resilient under both quiet and busy periods, handling operational issues with a solution‑oriented mindset.
• Clear, professional communication with guests and colleagues.
• Team‑player attitude with respect for senior staff instructions.

Required skills

• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems such as Micros and DMS.
• Basic knowledge of wine varieties, vintages, food ingredients and potential allergens.
