Shipboard Kitchen Assistant (HAL) – Galley

About the role

Join the galley team as a Kitchen Assistant on the HAL vessel operating out of SBI, Indonesia. You will support food preparation for guests and crew, ensuring high‑quality service while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food according to company menus, recipes and HACCP procedures.
• Follow USPH food‑handling and cleaning standards and maintain a spotless work area.
• Separate waste correctly and act as an ambassador for minimal food waste.
• Maintain and return equipment and utensils, reporting any faults to the Chef de Partie.
• Uphold personal appearance, dress code and conduct in line with company policies.
• Support guest satisfaction targets for food ratings in the assigned area.
• Assist with any additional duties related to health, safety, environmental and security compliance.

Required profile

• Good listening skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Initiative in culinary tasks and willingness to ask questions when unclear.
• Team‑player attitude.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Required skills

• Advanced food‑safety certification (accredited program).
• Knowledge of HACCP procedures and USPH standards.
• Familiarity with VSP (preferred) and waste‑separation protocols.
• Extensive kitchen‑machinery operation and knife‑safety expertise.
