Sales Manager – Chemical Catalysts (Indonesia)

About the role

BASF is seeking a Sales Manager to lead its Chemical Catalysts business in Indonesia. The role focuses on maintaining existing accounts, expanding market share, and supporting product innovation across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with engineering firms, industry associations, and key producers.
• Identify growth opportunities within current accounts and implement upsell/cross‑sell strategies.
• Prospect new customers, map untapped market segments, and capture competitive share.
• Collect and analyse market data to shape account strategies and product positioning.
• Coordinate with internal functions to ensure seamless customer support and technical proposal preparation.
• Support technology managers in product development and innovation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the catalyst or related chemical industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the Indonesian chemical catalyst market, including regulatory and cultural aspects.
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is highly preferred.
• Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
