Project Coordinator – THRIVE Project (Transforming Harmful Cultural Practices)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of the THRIVE Project, which aims to eliminate harmful cultural practices and build resilient, inclusive villages for children in Sumba. Working closely with churches, community leaders, government agencies and partners, the coordinator ensures that project activities meet quality, child protection and donor standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the annual project plan, budget and monitoring tools, ensuring alignment with organizational and donor requirements.
• Identify and secure additional funding sources beyond child sponsorship to support project activities.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to local partners, volunteers and staff on the THRIVE model and community‑based child protection systems.
• Monitor project implementation, produce monthly, semi‑annual and annual reports, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, fraud and risk policies.
• Facilitate networking and coordination with stakeholders, including faith‑based organisations, government bodies and IT teams to maintain effective monitoring systems.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in project coordination or management within humanitarian or community development contexts.
• Strong understanding of child protection standards and ability to work with diverse faith‑based and community stakeholders.
• Proven ability to develop budgets, write proposals and produce high‑quality reports.
• Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills, with a commitment to Christian values.
