Laboratory Supervisor – Site Laboratory

About the role

Alfred H Knight, through its Indonesian entity PT AHK Testing Indonesia, is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its site laboratory. The role ensures analytical testing is performed safely, accurately and within agreed turnaround times while fostering a high‑performance team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory activities, guaranteeing compliance with safety, quality and HSE standards.
• Lead laboratory personnel, allocate workloads and monitor performance to meet turnaround targets.
• Verify analytical data before release and investigate any abnormal results.
• Maintain laboratory documentation and quality management systems (ISO/IEC 17025).
• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably in mining, minerals or metallurgical testing.
• Proven supervisory or team‑lead experience with responsibility for workload planning and performance monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or a related scientific discipline.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, make decisions and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of laboratory analytical techniques and quality control/assurance principles.
• Hands‑on experience with XRF, ICP‑OES, ICP‑MS, AAS, Carbon & Sulfur Analyzer and wet‑chemistry methods.
• Deep understanding of laboratory safety, HSE requirements and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality management system and laboratory documentation.
• Strong data interpretation, troubleshooting and corrective‑action implementation skills.
