Environmental and Sustainability Engineer

About the role

Syngenta Indonesia is looking for an Environmental and Sustainability Engineer based in Gunung Putri, Bogor. The role supports the delivery of environmental and sustainability programs, campaigns and projects within the crop protection business, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support environmental and sustainability programs, campaigns, projects and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, Syngenta HSE standards, the Code of Practice, ISO 14001:2015 and HSE management system requirements.
• Monitor, analyse and follow up on environmental performance data, including air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste and environmental monitoring results.
• Develop and review environmental operational controls, risk assessments, Management of Change, audit action plans and HSE reports.
• Support HSE training and promote HSE, quality and CAN DO behaviour across all activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management or Engineering (Chemical, Environmental) or Faculty of Public Health (Environmental Management).
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in environmental and sustainability, preferably in manufacturing, such as wastewater treatment plants, PROPER, AMDAL/UKL-UPL, hazardous waste management and air emission management.
• Strong knowledge of the HSE management system and Indonesian environmental laws and regulations.
• Able to deliver basic knowledge on hazardous waste management and internal HSE audits.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Risk assessment, workplace inspection, incident investigation and internal auditing.
• Good understanding of hazardous waste management and environmental performance indicators.
• Desired: Certified General AK3 (Indonesia Safety Expert) and ISO 14001 auditor certification.
