Economist & Development Coordination Intern

About the role

This internship supports the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Jakarta by assisting the Economist and Programme team with research, coordination, reporting and communication activities linked to the UN Cooperation Framework and Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct background research on socio‑economic trends, SDG progress and national development priorities in Indonesia.
• Review policy documents, development reports and briefing materials related to the Cooperation Framework.
• Prepare background notes, summaries, presentations, talking points and briefing materials for meetings and events.
• Assist in stakeholder mapping and information gathering for UN coordination and development priorities.
• Support compilation and organization of data for SDG monitoring and reporting.
• Coordinate with UN agencies and partners on Cooperation Framework implementation and SDG‑related activities.
• Organise and document meetings, workshops, consultations and inter‑agency coordination sessions.
• Draft meeting summaries, minutes, action trackers and follow‑up notes.
• Maintain contact lists, trackers and knowledge‑management tools.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about UN development work and willing to support coordination, research and reporting activities.
