Site EHSS Supervisor

About the role

The Site EHSS Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) system at BASF's Merak plant in Indonesia. This role ensures compliance with BASF global standards as well as Indonesian regulations, supporting the plant’s license to operate.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with BASF and Indonesian environmental regulations, including waste handling, segregation, third‑party disposal, emission sampling and RESHA reporting.
• Maintain communication with the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and submit regular environmental reports, PROPER data and SIMPLE reports.
• Coordinate occupational health activities with the site medical officer, ensure health equipment is functional and support industrial hygiene programs.
• Manage occupational safety compliance, incident reporting, PPE availability, safety inspections, safety committee meetings and risk assessments such as HIRA and CHRA.
• Collaborate with other department heads, business units and corporate EHSS teams to align environmental, health, safety and security initiatives across the site.
• Participate in security liaison activities with local authorities.

Required profile

• Knowledge of BASF global EHSS requirements and Indonesian environmental, health, safety and security regulations.
• Experience in implementing and maintaining EHSS systems in an industrial setting.
• Ability to work closely with internal teams, external regulators and local authorities.
