Senior Associate - Tax - Merger and Acquisition Team

About the role

PwC Indonesia is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Tax Merger and Acquisition team in Jakarta. The role involves advising clients on local and cross‑border tax matters related to M&A transactions and acting as a strategic consultant throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare risk‑management procedures and engagement documentation, including client questionnaires and fee estimates.
• Assist managers in scoping work, organizing timelines, and allocating resources between senior and junior team members.
• Coordinate data requests, review work of associates and junior staff, and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Participate in client and advisor meetings, capture minutes, and communicate progress.
• Mentor and monitor junior team members, overseeing data provision from clients and target companies.
• Research tax regulations, analyse tax issues, and draft memos or reports on tax impacts, cash‑flow and taxable income modelling.
• Collaborate with the Financial Advisory Services (FAS) team on due‑diligence projects.

Required profile

• Senior Associate level with solid experience in tax advisory for merger and acquisition transactions.
• Strong analytical ability to assess tax risks, quantify tax assets and model financial impacts.
• Proven capability to manage multiple work streams and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
