Legal AML Compliance Manager – Indonesia

About the role

The Legal AML Compliance Manager will join Mastercard’s regional AML Advisory team in Indonesia. Reporting to the Vice President of Legal Compliance, the role supports the development and execution of a robust anti‑money‑laundering program, ensuring regulatory obligations are met and stakeholders understand their responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units to design solutions that meet customer needs while minimizing money‑laundering risk.
• Define and maintain local AML and sanctions compliance standards aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Assist the Regional AML Lead in monitoring network customers and partners for adherence to Mastercard rules.
• Evaluate AML risk for new or enhanced products during the review process.
• Conduct local compliance investigations in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Manage data requests from law‑enforcement agencies and internal teams.
• Contribute to periodic AML program risk assessments and metric reporting.
• Support escalation handling, urgent notifications, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AML compliance, preferably within the payments or financial services sector.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external partners.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigations simultaneously.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of anti‑money‑laundering principles and sanctions regulations.
• Familiarity with Mastercard AML rules and compliance frameworks.
• Data‑analytics proficiency for risk assessment and reporting.
