About the role
The Junior Social Specialist will support socio‑economic profiling, data analysis, and community engagement activities for environmental and social impact assessments. Working closely with senior specialists, the role contributes to the preparation of entitlement matrices, livelihood restoration measures, and vulnerability assessments.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct household surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs).
- Support socio‑economic profiling and data analysis for ESIA and LARAP in line with IFC/ADB/WB standards.
- Assist in identifying project-affected persons (PAPs) and affected assets.
- Prepare entitlement matrices, livelihood restoration measures, and vulnerability assessments.
- Plan, facilitate, and document community consultations and stakeholder meetings using culturally appropriate approaches.
- Assist with Indigenous Peoples screening, FPIC‑related activities, and documentation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
- Contribute to ESIA, LARAP, and ESG report sections (social baseline, impacts, mitigation, GRM).
- Support senior specialists during field activities.
Required profile
- Junior‑level professional able to support senior specialists in field and reporting tasks.
- Familiarity with IFC/ADB/WB standards for environmental and social assessments.
- Experience conducting surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
