Data Engineer

About the role

As a Data Engineer at Astro Technologies Indonesia, you will design, build, and maintain robust backend services and scalable pipelines for both batch and near‑real‑time data ingestion within a Google Cloud Platform environment. You will ensure the platform is performant, cost‑effective, and aligned with the company’s analytics needs.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on the architecture and evolution of the data platform, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Champion engineering best practices in CI/CD, observability, versioning, and automation.
• Optimize cloud resource usage to control costs, especially on GCP.
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and models for batch and streaming workloads.
• Build backend services tailored for data ingestion and analytics.
• Maintain day‑to‑day stability, monitoring, and API‑based connectivity of the data stack.
• Work independently as an Individual Contributor while collaborating closely with peers.
• Align data ingestion capabilities with broader business analytics requirements.

Required profile

• 3–4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong background in distributed systems, data modeling, and API‑centric architectures.
• Production‑level proficiency in Python or Golang.
• Hands‑on experience with modern data‑stack tools, especially on GCP.
