Customer Quality Representative - Poultry Delivery

About the role

Aviagen is looking for a Customer Quality Representative to receive day-old chicks at the local airport or designated area and monitor environmental conditions and chick quality on arrival. The role covers inspection, documentation, delivery support and reporting, and involves working with local customers and travelling to farms.

Key responsibilities

• Receive day-old chicks at the airport or designated area and monitor environmental conditions and chick quality on arrival.
• Verify shipment documents, product quantity, flight details and delivery schedules.
• Inspect chick condition, including temperature, ventilation, mortality rate and overall quality.
• Handle emergencies such as delayed flights, missing shipments or environmental concerns.
• Monitor environmental conditions during delivery to the farm and recommend improvements to chick comfort during transport.
• Help identify root causes of mortality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide detailed delivery reports within expected timeframes to the required technical standard.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare requirements and biosecurity procedures.
• Support local customers' basic technical issues during delivery and brooding, and troubleshoot to improve product performance.
• Learn technical best practices by shadowing senior team members on farm visits and regional trips.
• When directed, translate technical material into the local language and help communicate with local customer staff.

Required profile

• Graduate with an agricultural or rural degree in poultry or animal science.
• At least 3 years of farm operational management experience in the poultry industry, with knowledge of poultry handling and biosecurity (preferred).
• Communication skills in English and the local language of the assigned country, including written and oral presentation.
• Able to work flexible hours and to travel, with your own car and a driving licence.
