Business Lecturer - Flagship School of Business

About the role

The American University of Indonesia (AUI), which is evolving from Sampoerna University, is seeking a Business Lecturer to teach within its new Flagship School of Business and contribute to the university's intellectual life. Teaching assignments depend on the candidate's academic background and the needs of the School, and AUI is especially interested in candidates who can teach across several areas of the business curriculum. All courses are taught in English.

Key responsibilities

• Teach using contemporary, student-centered approaches such as case analysis, discussion-based teaching, team projects, simulations, presentations, applied research and engagement with practicing business leaders.
• Contribute to the broader intellectual life of the university.
• As a founding faculty member, develop relationships with the business community, including corporate projects and consulting, executive and guest speaker programs, internship development, business case development, industry advisory, applied research and community and entrepreneurial initiatives.

Required profile

• A doctoral degree in Business or an appropriate business discipline from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of the business curriculum.
• Evidence of effective university teaching and excellent English-language communication skills.
• Ability to teach and mentor students in a multicultural environment and to work collaboratively with faculty and academic leadership.
• Commitment to student-centered higher education and experience contributing to curriculum and program development.

Strongly preferred

• Teaching experience at an accredited U.S. college or university, or academic training at a U.S. university.
• Professional experience in business or industry, international teaching or professional experience.
• Experience with experiential or project-based learning, business cases or simulations, curriculum development, program assessment or accreditation.
