Associate I – Quality Control Lab (Microbiology)

About the role

At Alcon, the Associate I in the Quality Control Lab (Microbiology) supports product validation and compliance by performing microbiology testing and maintaining aseptic practices in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct microbiology laboratory sample analyses, ensuring sample integrity and timely results.
• Perform environmental monitoring, product bioburden, endotoxin, microvacuole, growth promotion, BI incoming, and sterility testing.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with ALCOA+ principles and archive documentation.
• Support non‑routine activities such as equipment qualification and method validation.
• Ensure laboratory instruments are calibrated and in good working condition per SOPs.
• Manage laboratory inventory, monitor material expiry, and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Dispose of samples, waste, and reagents following HSE procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Microbiology, Biology or Pharmacy with 2–3 years of microbiology laboratory experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Open to recent graduates with a solid understanding of microbiology.
• Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry, particularly with clean‑room environmental monitoring and water testing.
