Senior Software Engineer – Corporate IT & IS

About the role

Kompas Gramedia is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Corporate IT & IS team in West Jakarta. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high‑performance applications and services that support critical business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable architecture for new applications and services, including integration with existing systems.
• Develop and evaluate high‑throughput data models with optimal performance.
• Write clean, efficient, and secure code; lead regular code, performance, and security reviews.
• Implement automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, regression) to ensure quality before production release.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation such as data dictionaries, API specs, and system architecture diagrams.
• Define technical specifications and required infrastructure for each service.
• Handle escalations from support and help‑desk teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, share knowledge, mentor junior staff, and evaluate new tech options including AI‑driven development tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum GPA 3.0) in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, IT, Statistics, Applied Math or a related quantitative field.
• Highly analytical, solution‑oriented, detail‑focused and strong communicator able to work across cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive learner who keeps up with technology trends and participates in knowledge sharing.

Required skills

• Backend development: Python or C#.
• Database: PostgreSQL.
• Frontend: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, responsive web design.
• Version control and DevOps: Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps.
• Software design: SOLID principles.
• Familiarity with modern frameworks such as Odoo, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Node.js, ApostropheCMS (plus is a plus).
• Web services: REST API, JSON, HTTP specifications.
• Experience with AI‑driven development tools and LLM integration is a plus.
