Senior Golang Backend Engineer

About the role

Astro Technologies Indonesia is a fast‑growing quick‑commerce platform delivering groceries within minutes. We are looking for a Senior Golang Backend Engineer to lead the design and improvement of scalable backend services that power our cross‑platform experience.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define goals and prioritize features.
• Lead a team of engineers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best‑practice standards.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions and break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend features, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain and optimise databases, caching, RPC, and messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Monitor system performance using tools like Grafana and Datadog and drive continuous improvements.
• Explore AI tools to enhance development efficiency.

Required profile

• 5–6 years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on Golang experience building distributed services.
• Strong knowledge of Redis, RPC mechanisms, and message‑queue technologies (e.g., Kafka).
• Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases and ability to design efficient data models.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable, fault‑tolerant systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Datadog.
