Platform Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Data, AI & Platforms Manager, the Platform Engineer will own the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, Linux and Kubernetes environments, monitoring and observability platforms, relational databases and Hadoop/Data Lakehouse infrastructure. The role requires independent ownership of technical tasks, incidents and improvement initiatives to keep platform services stable, secure and production‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, ArgoCD or equivalent.
• Optimize software build, test, deployment, rollback and artifact management processes.
• Manage daily Linux system operations, including service management, log investigation and routine maintenance.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, services, ingress, ConfigMaps, secrets and persistent storage.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code configurations with Terraform, Ansible or similar tools.
• Automate backend utilities, APIs, webhooks and integrations using Python and Bash scripts.
• Configure monitoring, dashboards, log collection and alerts with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch or ELK.
• Operate database and data platform environments, performing health checks, backups and resource monitoring for PostgreSQL, MySQL and Hadoop/Data Lakehouse.
• Investigate alerts, analyse logs, collect diagnostics and support incident response and root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Data, Platform, DevOps and Business teams to deliver production‑ready solutions while adhering to security standards.
