NDT Technical Manager

About the role

The NDT Technical Manager oversees all technical aspects of non‑destructive testing operations for the APAC region, ensuring compliance with industry standards, maintaining accreditations, and supporting business development through technical expertise. The role is based in Batam, Indonesia and involves leading a multidisciplinary NDT team.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project‑specific NDT quality and technical systems, procedures, and standards.
• Supervise and train NDT personnel, verify qualifications, and manage certification records.
• Conduct planned and random quality audits, coordinate external audits, and ensure compliance with statutory, client, and project requirements.
• Liaise with clients, third‑party inspectors, HSEQ department, and inspection groups to resolve technical issues.
• Stay current with emerging NDT technologies and standards, and update IMDS NDT portal documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
• Valid NDT Level III certification in MT, PT, UT and RT (ASNT/PCN/CSWIP).
• Minimum 10 years of NDT experience, including certification management, accreditation, training, technical support and auditing.
• Experience with Phased Array, TOFD, Radiography and advanced methods such as PEC, LRUT, IRIS, MFL, Subsea Inspection.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ISO 9712, ASTM and client specifications.

Required skills

• NDT Level III certification (MT, PT, UT, RT).
• Phased Array, TOFD, Radiography techniques.
• Advanced NDT methods: PEC, LRUT, IRIS, MFL, Subsea Inspection.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, ISO 9712, ASTM standards.
• Competency‑Based Training and Assessment.
• Computer proficiency for documentation and audit management.
