Material Engineer

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Material Engineer to join its Engineering function in Indonesia. The role focuses on developing, qualifying, and implementing new production materials, equipment, and technologies to support high‑quality eye‑care products.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute material testing, feasibility studies, and qualification processes for new and alternate materials.
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments and evaluate supplier capability and readiness.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production.
• Generate protocols and comprehensive reports for feasibility, engineering, and material qualification studies.
• Coordinate protocol execution with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams to integrate new materials and processes.
• Perform manufacturing R&D to resolve production challenges, reduce costs, and maintain compliance.
• Develop standard manufacturing procedures and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure all activities comply with HSE, GMP, data integrity, and company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in science or engineering.
• 0‑2 years of relevant experience in material testing (training provided).
• Good team player with a willingness to contribute to global projects.
