General Compliance Officer

About the role

The General Compliance Officer supports the implementation and continuous improvement of Manulife Indonesia's compliance framework across its insurance and pension fund subsidiaries. The role ensures timely and accurate submission of mandatory regulatory reports, monitors regulatory changes, carries out regulatory gap assessments and tracks remediation. It reports to the Head of General Compliance and advises business and operational functions, fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the regulatory compliance program with business units, ensuring compliance with insurance and pension fund regulations
• Carry out gap analyses and monitor closure of identified gaps and action plans
• Distribute new regulatory updates and policy procedures promptly
• Review product documents such as product approvals, marketing materials and customer communications
• Support business units in meeting regulator and auditor requirements, including compliance QA and testing programs
• Keep the Archer database and regulatory reporting system accurate and up to date
• Manage mandatory regulatory reporting and respond accurately to supervisory inquiries, letters and examinations
• Deliver training on compliance topics and promote a compliance culture

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Law, Criminology, Accounting, Finance or a related field
• More than 5 years of experience in general compliance, regulatory compliance or regulatory functions
• Experience in insurance, pension funds or other financial institutions highly preferred
• LOMA certification is an advantage
• Proactive, reliable, able to meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision

Required skills

• Ability to prepare regulatory summaries, compliance notes, reports and presentation materials
• Preferred: ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
