Faith and Development Specialist

About the role

World Vision Indonesia is seeking a Faith and Development Specialist to provide strategic and technical leadership for faith‑integrated programming. The role will ensure that faith perspectives are embedded across sectoral, humanitarian and advocacy initiatives, supporting the organization’s mission to transform the lives of vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and refinement of Faith & Development frameworks, standards, tools and implementation guidance.
• Integrate faith perspectives into programme design, assessments, proposals and advocacy activities.
• Conduct contextual analyses of religious dynamics, social cohesion and emerging development issues.
• Develop strategic plans and roadmaps for Faith Integration, Spiritual Nurture for Children, church engagement and inter‑faith collaboration.
• Provide technical reviews of programme designs, reports and proposals to ensure compliance with safeguarding and quality standards.
• Create quality benchmarks, indicators and monitoring tools, and facilitate programme quality assessments.
• Support corrective action planning, continuous improvement and ethical programming practices.
• Engage with churches, faith‑based organisations and inter‑faith actors to strengthen partnerships, mobilise resources and promote collective action.
• Assist in organisational readiness and response during emergencies, ensuring coordinated and accountable assistance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in faith‑integrated development, humanitarian or child‑focused programmes.
• Strong understanding of religious dynamics, inter‑faith engagement and social cohesion.
• Demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning, framework development and technical quality assurance.
• Knowledge of safeguarding standards and risk‑management practices.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for partnership development and resource mobilisation.
