Data Operations Specialist (Data Ops) – Integrated HIS, EMR, ERP

About the role

The Data Operations Specialist ensures high‑quality, reliable, and continuous data flow between the Integrated Hospital Information System (HIS), Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modules. This role actively supports AI engineers, data scientists and MLOps by preparing, validating, monitoring and troubleshooting production data pipelines that feed predictive models, clinical decision support and operational analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated data extraction pipelines from HIS, EMR and ERP into data lakes/warehouses used by AI models.
• Ensure real‑time or near‑real‑time data feeds for AI applications such as patient deterioration prediction and length‑of‑stay forecasting.
• Validate data quality, resolve pipeline failures, and maintain clear documentation of data flows.
• Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to map source systems and define data transformation rules.
• Support labeling tools and data curation workflows to prepare training datasets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in data operations, data quality or ETL support, preferably within a healthcare environment.
• Direct experience with HIS, EMR and ERP systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Familiarity with AI/ML data pipelines and basic understanding of clinical data standards.

Required skills

• Intermediate SQL (joins, window functions, performance tuning).
• Basic Python or R for data validation (pandas) and API interaction.
• Knowledge of data formats such as JSON, Parquet, Avro, HL7/FHIR.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Awareness of labeling tools like Labelbox or Doccano.
