Cobol Programmer Core Insurance System

About the role

We are looking for an experienced COBOL programmer to join our team and work on the L400/GASIA core insurance system. The role involves developing and maintaining critical insurance applications while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain COBOL programs on the L400/GASIA core insurance platform.
• Integrate and manage data using DB2 and IBM WebSphere MQ.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation of existing code.
• Work with business teams to translate insurance product requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on COBOL development experience.
• Strong understanding of core insurance products, processes and terminology.
• Experience with mainframe environments (IBM i) and the L400/GASIA system.

Required skills

• COBOL (syntax, data structures, file handling, program logic).
