Vice President, Government Engagement

About the role

The Vice President, Government Engagement will lead Mastercard’s strategic partnership efforts with Indonesian and Timor‑Leste government stakeholders. Reporting to the Indonesia Country Manager, this senior leader will shape policy dialogue, drive financial‑inclusion initiatives, and expand Mastercard’s payment ecosystem across the public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Align Mastercard’s products, services and ecosystem capabilities with national priorities on financial inclusion, citizen services and economic development.
• Develop and execute growth strategies for new business opportunities in Indonesia and Timor‑Leste through government‑led projects and partnerships.
• Lead high‑level conversations with senior officials, including ministers, to advocate for Mastercard and facilitate collaborative solutions.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams across technology, sales, product, compliance and risk to design, develop and deliver government‑focused initiatives.
• Oversee the tender process, manage government relationships and co‑create solutions that meet public‑sector requirements.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development and partnership building with government entities.
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills at senior‑government levels.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a commercial focus and ability to drive multi‑organizational programs.
• Self‑driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑changing environment.
