Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Digital Transformation

About the role

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Digital Transformation contributes to the digital transformation roadmap of the Philips Batam factory and delivers digital and smart factory solutions that drive continuous improvement, working with internal and external partners. It is an office-based role.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the factory's digital transformation roadmap by identifying improvement opportunities and recommending solutions.
• Lead or deliver digital projects end-to-end, from requirements and design to deployment, user training and reporting, with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Develop and integrate manufacturing systems, dashboards, applications and automated workflows, and evaluate and pilot Industry 4.0 technologies and use cases.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to analyse processes, find root causes and measure the impact of digital solutions.
• Ensure reliable operation of digital solutions through compliance with IT and validation procedures, up-to-date documentation and user support.
• Work safely, within cost, regulatory and environmental requirements and local laws, and in line with Philips General Business principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, operations or engineering environment in a similar role.
• Ability to collect, analyse and visualise manufacturing data and build dashboards.
• Project management skills, including managing requirements, timelines and stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, documentation and user training skills, with awareness of IT change control, system validation and data security.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with low-code platforms (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform) and/or programming and database skills (e.g. SQL, Python).
• Working knowledge of AI and machine learning, and familiarity with generative AI tools and AI agents.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems such as MES and ERP/SAP, and shopfloor connectivity.
